Issues installing Illustrator v 24.1 on WS 2016

Hi,

I'm using a Windows Server 2016-image (with all the latest updates) in order to later on push / provision a new image to all my Citrix-machines. I've had Adobe Illustrator previously and are currently using version 23.1 (working just fine).

Here's where it all fails. Since some users are trying to open up newer types of files, they requested me to make sure Illustrator was up to date. Version 24.0.1 is showing up in Adobe CC as "Not Compatible".

This is what I've tried so far:

- Uninstalling the previous verison.

- Restarting the server.

- Restarting the Adobe Update-service.

I'm kinda stuck, and support didn't really know what to do next.

Any suggestions?

Edit: And yes, it's the same requirements on version 24 as version 23. Support confirms.

Reading the System Requirements I notice:

  • Illustrator is not supported on virtualized or server-based environments. These environments include, but are not limited to, Citrix Metaframe/Citrix Presentation Server, NVIDIA Grid, Microsoft App-V, VMWare, Parallels, and Virtual PC. "Thin Clients" are also server-based environments.
