Just started my free trial for adobe indesign - it won't even open

Question

Keeps giving me an error in the tro screen with the "what's new" advertisment.

"Sorry an error occured.

Adobe indesign 2021 has encountered a problem and needs to close..

Is there a way to fix this?

if you did not use the cc desktop app to install id, uninstall it (don't delte it) and then install the cc desktop app from here https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs.

if you have trouble downloading, clear your browser's cache, try another browser or use the alternate links at the bottom of the above page.

if you installed id using the cc desktop app, reset your id preferences, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990
