Hi

Can I legally download creative cloud cs2 from adobe or other sites?

that version is totally free.

Correct answer John T Smith

No, that version is not FREE... it is only for those who have a valid CS2 license and need the special version due to the activation server being retired

Adobe no longer has visible links to old software... you will need to contact support with your original serial number to be given a download link (see below)

Downloading from anywhere else is VERY risky, since a common tactic of scammers is to modify the program to install malware on your computer and steal your information

Adobe removed old links from public view https://theblog.adobe.com/changes-to-creative-cloud-download-availability

-also read https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-limits-software-downloads.html

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The process below WILL NOT WORK if you have a (CS6 or earlier) serial number for an education or volume version, since the only downloads now available are the retail installers, which DO NOT work with an education or volume serial number

Start by reading reply #10 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2620448

-Also read https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/kb/downloaded-older-app.html

-And https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-downloaded-file-app.html

-OR... Go to https://www.adobe.com/about-adobe/contact.html

-click on the Chat bot on the bottom right hand corner of the first screen

--the chat bot is the circle with a funny looking box with 3 dots inside

-click on Downloading or Installing, then type Agent

Do NOT let the support agent tell you to come to the forums for help... no user in a public forum has access to Adobe's internal links, you MUST obtain the program and update links from Adobe support

AND when you finally do have a download link, be sure to copy every file you download to an external drive (or 2 or 3) so you never have to hunt for download links if they are moved again... also make a text file containing ALL of your serial numbers and copy that file as well

For anyone else reading this

Never post private information on a public forum... including your actual email address or phone number

Scammers try to steal serial numbers and other private information by posing as Adobe employees... Never give your private information to someone who contacts you via PM (Private Message) or email until you are sure that person is an Adobe employee (see next)

When an employee asks for information (identified by a STAFF badge where my ACP badge shows) hover your mouse over their name and then click the Message option in the popup window to send a private email

Adobe does not use Skype... if someone asks you to talk to them via Skype to "help" you, immediately report their Adobe ID in https://forums.adobe.com/community/forumhelp/forum_comments/content so the person may be banned from the forums

And to add to John T Smith's quite complete answer:

Downloading from anywhere else is VERY risky, since a common tactic of scammers is to modify the program to install malware on your computer and steal your information

There are no legal download sites for Adobe products except Adobe themselves.

Even the download links as provided by https://prodesigntools.com/ point to Adobe servers and collecting the links at one convenient point is the only service, https://prodesigntools.com/  offers here. I know for sure that ProDesignTools collects the data for your convenience and is a clean service for you to use, other unknown sites using a similar service would at least to be handled with care.
