Licensing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

I own a perpetual (non-time-limited) Adobe Acrobat XI Pro license. According to my Adobe account, the license is not activated on any computer.

However, it is no longer possible to activate Acrobat XI Pro.

This issue is well known and has been discussed multiple times in this forum.

How can I obtain a working, activatable license for my legally purchased Acrobat XI Pro?

This is 2026.  In the absence of a time machine that can transport you to the year 2012 when activation was still possible on older machines, it's no longer doable.  Acrobat XI reached End of Life in 2017. Your license was for the life of the product, not the user's life.

Hope that helps.

The Adobe system only shows activations for new cloud programs, not for serial number programs

Tiemo, thanks for posting about your problems managing your existing activations for Acrobat XI. What is the exact error you are encountering? Please see https://adobe.ly/3ZisXv8 for information on how to manage any remaining activations for Acrobat XI Pro in 2026. ^JW

I have read your forum post and followed the instructions given there. Unfortunately, nothing has changed.

During the reinstallation of Acrobat XI Pro, after entering my serial number, I still receive the message that it has already been activated on too many computers. However, this is not the case. I deactivated Acrobat on my old PC according to your instructions.

What can I do now?

In other posts on this topic, it is mentioned that Adobe has shut down the activation servers, making it technically impossible to reinstall Acrobat XI Pro. In those posts, it was also stated that Adobe provided affected customers with new serial numbers.

if you're seeing an excess activation count message you must deactivate using a computer with a current activation.

p.s.  and, in the case of an excess activation count message, your statement "the license is not activated on any computer" would be incorrect.
