Question

Lifetime license of Lightroom 6 is not for lifetime?

Hello,

End of 2017 I bought a lifetime license for Lightroom 6.

Because the program crashed down recently, I wanted to reinstall it.

But I've just seen you don't offer the installer anymore: "Lightroom 6 -- This installer is no longer available"
Seriously? The license wasn't cheap and I also saved my serial number to register if needed.
I even installed your new lightroom version, but just to find two options: a) test trial or b) buy it.
I mean, I bought a valid serial number. Don't you want to offer your paying clients a solution?

Best,
Mike

In fact, there is no such thing as a "lifetime license" and there never was.  Everything has an End of Life date and CS6 / LR6 were no exception.

That said, you should be able to install the trial and activate it with a legitimate Adobe serial number if your computer & operating system are still compatible with it.

Software downloads purchased directly from Adobe are recorded in your Adobe account.

NOTE 1 : Legacy installers may not work on macOS Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave without terminal workarounds. See the help article below.

NOTE 2: Legacy software will never run on Catalina or Big Sur.

Good luck!

I have been in software sales for 15 years. The perpetual license model existed before the internet and still does today. It all depends on what the license agreement says, which is the contract between the publiser and the user. Please do not misinform people by telling them there is no perpetual model. As long as the user has compatible hardware and OS,  they should be able to keep using the software with the license that was purchased. It just happens that Adobe promoted this awful subscription only model, to take money for on a continuous basis.

pedantics aside, here's the last lightroom 6 installer (6.14), https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/lightroom-6-end-of-support.html

And if you succeed in finding it, this time keep the installer safe. There was no promise that you'd be able to keep downloading it.

Direct Download Links https://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl MAY help
-you MUST do what it says in Note: Very Important Instructions
-https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2015-direct-download-links.html#download-instructions
-the prodesign links go directly to Adobe's file server, so this process will
--only work until Adobe completely removes the old version(s) from the server
.
IF/When you do have a download, be sure to copy it to AT LEAST one external device
-since Adobe does sometimes remove old versions from the server
-a usb flash drive or external hard drive, or write to a DVD
-plus a text file containing your serial number if you have CS6/CS5
