Lightroom 5 issue

I have downloaded and installed the trial version of lightroom 5 on my Macbook. When opening lightroom I get a message saying "an error occurred when changing modules" then I can go no further. What is the prblem?

    I have tried all of your suggestions and nothing works. I just keep getting

    the same message "an error occurred when changing modules.
