Lightroom 5 upgrade won't install on PC with Windows Vista

I seemed to download the Lightroom 5 upgrade just fine to my PC.  But nothing happens when I double-click the application in my downloads folder.  And there's no LR5 icon on my desktop.  Is there a trick to it?

Please check the system requirement.

Lightrrom 5 is only supported on Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.

Oh man, that sucks.  I've never come across a program not supporting Vista before.  I wonder why they would do that.  Thanks for your help.
