Lightroom 6.12 update

I had LR 6.8.1 ( I have had the LR since 2007), accessed the site and bought the upgrade 6.12, used the emailed link, and downloaded the program - got the original version 6.0 that I bought a few years ago. I spent several hours trying to sort thing out. In essence - I paid for an upgrade 6.12, and got the old version 60. In the meantime I uninstalled the version that I had 6.8.1.

So - Adobe charged my visa and did NOT provide a version I paid for. Is this a bait&switch operation? Or a simple fraud? I was advised with the "expert" Jyoti that I should access the Experts Forum to find a solution. Are the experts going to reimburse me the $79.0 that I paid for the upgrade I never received?

I'm puzzled though. If you had 6.8.1, there's no need to pay extra for 6.12. All 6.x updates are free for 6.x owners.

    it sounds like user error.

adobe provides that 6.12 update (and all minor version updates) to all owners of 6.0 free of charge.

Really? So why they charged me $79 for it? And provided me with a link to download the old version for free. Mind you - I had the stand alone version. Do you have the link to the free 6.12?
