I did enter the registered serial number which I confirmed with the one on the laptop. I followed the instructions on how to find it as noted in the link in your e mail but even though I used that it still seemed to think it was a prirate copy.
I can provide that registered serial number if that would help - it is [removed personal information]

Dominic, thanks for the update. The error is likely due to the licensing files being damaged when you moved the files to the Apple MacBook Pro. Please see Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite for details on how to resolve the error.
If you continue to encounter difficulties then please format the MacBook Pro and begin the migration process again. This time please choose to only transfer any needed documents or settings. You can then download and install a new installation of Lightroom 6 from Download Photoshop Lightroom .
