Lightroom 6 will not install, put redemption code in, no serial number required?

I purchased Lightroom 6 in retail store, put in CD, put in redemption code, does not download.  How can I get this to work?

    Hi johnc,

    Use the below link to redeem your product, once you done you will get a serial number which would require to activate the software.

    https://redeem.licenses.adobe.com/getserial

    Now, download and install the product using the below link.

    Install Photoshop Lightroom

    This didn't work for me. After I click redeem it says no serial number necessary. Then it says to download, which leads to open creative cloud and from there I am stuck. It doesn't open or download in creative cloud.
