Lightroom CC/6 Update – March 2016 Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

I have been using Lightroom 6.14 with great satisfaction for some time. I recently bought a Canon 1DXii and learned that LR 6 could not use/open/import the Raw files from the camera. I saw in one of the forums that I needed to update LR 6 to 2015/6.5. I downloaded the patch and getting the below error code. I have not been able to find solutions for this error code. Please confirm 2015/6.5 will provide the solution and how to fix the download/upgrade error. Please help. Thanks!

As you have mentioned you are unable to install the update for LR 6 as it fails with an error code 'U44M2P7'.

This happens when the installation fails, you can know more about this error from the following help document: Updates don't install | Update failure or U44M errors in Adobe Photoshop CS6.

LR 6.5 is a very old version and the latest version for standalone LR 6 license was 6.14, if you have a subscription then you can upgrade your LR 6.14 to LR classic.

To resolve this issue, please uninstall Lightroom completely: How to uninstall Lightroom manually.

After this download and install it again from here: Lightroom Classic CC Get Started.

Thanks for your reply. I bought an annual subscription to Lightroom CC a few days ago thinking this would simply be an upgrade to my Lightroom 6. I realized after downloading/installing that it is a separate platform with cloud, etc., I really don’t want this. I want to have the full Lightroom on my computer (without) cloud that reads my Canon 1dxii. I did not have a subscription for Lightroom 6. I do now have a subscription for Lightroom CC (cloud) but again, I don’t want that. So please advise again.
