lightroom 5 will not install from disk on older mac mini, os10.9?

    It does not read, just ejects. Should disk work or probably defective?

    Not sure what might be wrong, unless, maybe the computer only has a CD drive and you're trying to install from a DVD.  I don't know what sort of media LR comes in since I didn't get a disc with the latest version.

    You might just as well download and install the LR 5.3 update DMG from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates instead of installing from a physical disk that probably has 5.0.
