[Locked] Beware of adobe scam

Adobe tricks customers into signing year long contracts that they must then pay a large fee to get out of.

They offer you one month for free but neglect to tell you that you will then be charged 30 dollars a month for the next year.

But don't worry, you can contact the Adobe support team and get jerked around for 45 minutes, directed to non existing support members, and inevitably told to shove off because your customer satisfaction doesn't matter.

It is hard to understand why a company with such great products resorts to such cheap measures to rob consumers rather than let there products speak for themselves.

I've just discovered that Adobe have me on a yearly contract, and to cancel my monthly sub I have to pay out the rest of the year(!). I never signed up to a yearly contract. Surely it's illegal to sign customers up for contracts without their knowledge? Hopefully Fair Trade will have some answers.   I tried contacting Adobe support but the call centre in India had no record of my email address or name - despite the fact that my bank bills shows Adobe has been extracting close to $70 a month for the past few years - all without ever providing a receipt.  It's not required by law, but it would be the decent thing for Adobe to do for their customers, or are they hoping we will simply forget how much they are extracting from our wallets to "rent" their software.

I signed up for month to month. When I tried to cancel I was given the option of one free month which I assumed was an attempt to keep me using the product. There was nothing that said "oh yeah btw, if u click this button you will owe us 30 dollars a month for the next year." Whether or not there was underlying text that said this idk but it's a cheap trick in my opinion.

I let adobe know how I felt and I was told that my subscription woold be canceled in December for no fee but I have now been charged for January and February as well and when I try to speak to someone about it I am ignored.

comparing dealing with a software company to leasing a car is a bit of a stretch there John t smith. I expect for a salesman to try to screw me over, I didn't realize I had to have my eye out for a company I thought I could trust. Not everyone's as brilliant as you I guess.

It is standard practice with all companies I know and deal with, for them to offer the first month free. After which time they automatically charge each month until cancelled.

Lovely. Except I can't cancel. I can't even set my "subscription" to not auto renew. my only option is to wait till the very last month of my "subscription" and then cancel. I wouldnt be surprised if adobe had yet another cheap trick at that point to try to get more of my money.

Do you sign a lease to rent a car or an apartment without reading the agreement?

Adobe can not provide a contract because no such contract exists. Close those accounts from where they are collecting payments and see if they send you a Written bill. How to cancel payment to Adobe Stock: Cancel payments to Adobe through your financial institution. PayPal cancel payment: Transaction details--View Billing Agreement Details. Last but not least, read the subscription details first and ask the service representative to explain them. Also, Do not cancel through manage account. NEVER
