Question

Looking for Shockwave replacement

I'm trying to install Microsoft PictureIt 2000.  Yes I know, it's an old program but one that I was very efficient at.  Installation failed because it needs Shockwave.  I understand that Shockwave has been discontinued and no longer available for download.  Is there a similar and more up to date program I can use that will work with PictureIt 2000?

An answer from Microsoft forums seem to suggest a virtual machine with Windows XP on it ( https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/microsoft-picture-it-incompatability-with-windows/b761119e-f826-4794-8c9b-6610b3658832?page=1&tm=1344076643856 ).

Unfortunately as old as it is, shockwave may only be part of the issue and your OS may be another part. You could look into other solutions as there is Photoshop Elements which is relatively inexpensive or a free program like GIMP.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
