Lost access to apps on 2018 pre-subscription device licenses – help

Hi there,

For years I've been using 2018 versions of Photoshop and InDesign which were on device licenses, meaning I didn't have to pay to keep them updated. Today, out of nowhere, I've lost access to both apps and they're saying that my 'trial' has expired. This is pretty deeply annoying, because they're not on subscription so this shouldn't be an issue. I can't afford to pay £40 per month for access to them, and I understood that I'd bought a 2018 version of them forever. Please can someone help me regain access, or understand what has gone wrong?

Thanks, Fiona

Hello Fiona,

To my knowledge, no Creative Cloud apps were ever available "pre-subscription" or without a subscription plan of some sort, except perhaps in very large corporate/government environments.

So unless that's you, it sounds like there was something else going on there perhaps. There is/was no "pay once" option for individuals; that ended with CS6 in 2012.
