LR 5 disc upgrade problem

I have LR4 on my IMac and purchased LR5 upgrade disc but the computer won't read the disc. Disc is okay as I have uprageded successfully on Macbook pro. I did have LR5b on Imac but have dumped this programme to trash thinking that there may be a conflict.

Don't know what to do next, any advice ?

Why are simple things difficult?

copy the installation files to an external harddrive or usb drive and use the drive on your imac.  or if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/lightroom-5-ddl-comparison-vs-lr4.html

    and activate with your serial.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Many thanks. I downloaded LR5 directly from Adobe and activated using my serial numbers, so now I am a happy bunny. I love my computers but sometimes wish they were not so awkward. I now look forward to getting stuck into LR5.

    Thanks again
