LR 6 will not install

I have downloaded LR 6 (I have the serial number) but it won't install.

It is a version that I had on a Win 7 system that got corrupted so I had to do a clean install of the HD and am trying to reinstall LR 7

Could it be it thinks I have "used up" my two installs?

It is the same computer it was installed on before, with no problems in updating etc.

there is no limit to the number of installation files you can download from adobe.

what downloaded file (name, extension and size) is shown on your computer?

Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!

I double click on the downloaded file, and it want to open in Adobe Acrobat X, which then tell me it AA X doesn't recognize the file type.

I suspect Adobe thinks I've used up my two downloads, but I'm trying to reinstall LR6 on the same computer it already resided on; I had to do a hard wipe of the HD and reinstall Win 7, thus losing LR 6.

I can download my Canon software, extract and install without any problem.
