LR will not launch.

After a very difficult time installing LR, the installer rports that is fully installed, but that a patch has failed. Neither will LR launch.

Any help would be appreciated, I've never had so much difficulty installing a piece of software.

During the install, file permissions were changed, uninstall and re-installs performed many times.

Photoshop CC and Bridge CC installed perfectly first time. The PC is new with plenty of capacity.
