LR5 catalog issue

I plan to subscribe to CC photography and I want to know if I can use my current catalog with all of my current pictures cataloged or will I need a new one for CC LM app. If I use a new one and cancel in the future what happens to that catalog? Can it be used with my old retail version of LR? I would hate to detroy all of my catalog work.

Hi zcarvic,

Lightroom 5 will atuomatically prompt you to upgrade your old catalog when you first launch it.

In case it won't then you can open it in Lightroom 5 via File>Open Catalog.

If you use new catalog then ol one will remain intact and you can use it with old version of Lightroom any time.

Thanks. I am concerned about the loss of all my work and the possibility donw the road of cancelling CC.
