LR6-Upgrade: Serial okay, but no legitimating older version found

Hi folks,

I just downloaded and payed LR6 to upgrade from 5.7. I provided all necessary data correctly. The foregoing version 5.7 was downloaded an payed as well. When starting LR 6, it asked me to enter the serial, which I did. It accepted the serial but prompted that it cannot find a legitimating older version. 5.7 is installed on the same machine.

What can I do?

    you will then be prompted to select a qualifying version.  select lr 5.  you will then be prompted to enter lr 5's serial number.

    enter the correct number at the correct time and installation of lr 6 will complete.
