What is the best way to start at making a comic book?

I have the script and rough illustrations done.

Which apps are beginner friendly to start with?

Are you asking about using Photoshop or doing a comic?

If you are asking about how to do a comic, you are here at the wrong place, even if some people may be able to help you.

So let me concentrate on how to use Photoshop fir this:

    • Scan the raw illustrations (photograph, scanner, what ever you want to use)
    • Open the file(s) in Photoshop
    • Create a new layer
    • Using a tablet (best) or the mouse redraw the contours to get a clean drawing.
    • Create a different layer. Switch visibility of the raw layer off, as soon as you do not need it anymore.
    • Colour the drawings. Beforehand you can create the colour palette to use consistent colours.
    • Create a new layer and draw the bubbles... You can use predefined bubbles for this, to get a consistent look.
    • Add the text, either by hand or by typing using one of the great Adobe fonts ...
    • Save you file, proceed with the next file.

I Personally would do one file one page, with the separations again on a new layer.

Now please let us know if this is enough or if you need help for the different steps. Please look before hand into the different help files before asking additional questions. It’s easier than.

You’re welcome. Just to say: you could also use Illustrator for this. Quite the same approach, but the result would be vector drawings that scale better...
