Question

Merging download and hard copy software

Hi

Sorry, I couldn't think of a way to search for this.

I've got a subscription for After Effects CS5.5 that I've had for a few months now.  But I've got a good offer to get the full CS5.5 Production package outright.

Except the package is off the shelf hard copy.

Will that all merrge neatly into the current account and let me cancel the subscription without touching AE, or am I better off starting over and reinstalling everything?

Cheers

Oh, look what I found in the FAQ (it's a big FAQ, ok)

" If I decide I want to buy my individual Creative Suite application rather than continue to subscribe to it, do I need to reinstall it?

If you buy the same product that you were previously subscribing to, you do not need to download or reinstall it. You can deactivate the product by choosing Help > Deactivate in the menu bar. Then, the next time you launch the product, simply enter the serial number that came with your new purchase. If your subscription has already expired, when you launch the application, simply enter the new serial number to begin using the software again."

Ok, so if I cancel the subscription, deactivate the software, install the rest of the CS 5.5 package I can then use the new activation to reactivate After Effects without any bother.  I assume I have that right.

Mr_muz I would recommend removing After Effects as it will be looking for a point product license as opposed to a suite license.  The text above would be applicable if you canceled for After Effects CS5.5 subscription because you had purchased the perpetual version of After Effects CS5.5.
