I tried loading Adobe Premier Elements 11 twice and keep getting the message that DCIMAN32.dll is missing.  How do I resolve this problem?

I tried the above and received the message, "You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility."  Is there anything else I can try?  I'm not at home and don't have the Windows install disk with me.

If you get that warning, then there is probably nothing you can do - if you don't have administrative privileges, any repair attempt is bound to fail. As a matter of fact that is probably also ther single reason why your PSE install/ usage fails - your user is not allowed to access certain system components.

Do you receive this error when you are installing Premiere Elements 11?  If not what error messages do you receive?  Which operating system are you using?

I was able to install but then when I tried to open the program the message poped up.   I'm using Windows 7.

dciman32.dll is a Windows system file; check in C:\Windows\System32 if that file is actually there.

If not, try using the System File Checker to restore the file.  Open a Command Prompt (Start | cmd), then type

    sfc /scannow

You may need your Windows install disk for this.
