Mojave machine crashing with adobe cc products

I'm running a 2017MacBook Pro on Mojave 10.14.1 and find that my whole machine crashes with apple's version of the blue screen of death (except it's a black screen) saying there was some error and machine will restart. This only happens when I'm running either photoshop or illustrator (haven't tried other adobe apps, but no other programs do this). This happens at random while working with no opportunity to save. Anyone have some sort of idea what could be causing this? I'm afraid to keep working because I don't want to keep losing work and possibly damaging my machine.

2 things you can try right off the bat. You are running an earlier version of Mojave. The current version is 10.14.3. install that update and see where you are.

Also, you didn't mention which versions of Adobe products you are running, but I recommend updating to the latest versions there as well. I think the two issues you are running in to should have a better chance of clearing up with those updates.
