Moving Creative Cloud FILES Folder to an external hard drive for MacOS

I was wondering if anyone has successfully moved their Creative Cloud FILES (not applications) to an external hard drive. I don't have enough storage on my MacBook Pro to host all the files I need to share within the design team I work. IT have purchased me an WD My Passport drive and I tried syncing it, but ACC is just resyncing the same folders over and over again. My IT department has almost no mac knowledge or understanding of how ACC works. Any help or suggestions welcome!!

Are you talking about just moving all of your .AI files over there? If that is the case, yet it works. I often work off of a wide variety of drives. You may notice it starting the file a little slower, especially with those little passport drives. They are typically only 5200 rpm, so they run a little slower. But once it's open, it's not running from there any more so it won't matter. Then when you save back you may notice the same thing with how fast or slow it saves.
