My adventure trough Adobe Creative Cloud

So this story needs a bit of context.

I am a programmer using a handed down computer from my job.

This computer has photoshop 2015 or something and illustrator 2013 or something pre-installed. Because the computer is not brand new the c: disk started to get full.

Time for a clean up.

So i start cleaning up and find these 2 programs.

I try to uninstall them and instead of uninstalling these programs it starts downloading Adobe Creative Cloud. This gives an error since there is no space on my disk. (No choice to install on different disk either.)

So i first clean up some other stuff make some space so photoshop can install its stuff to be able to uninstall. (Ridiculous that this is needed in the first place.)

Finally i got space to install Adobe Creative Cloud to uninstall photoshop and illustrator.

WAIT i see you downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud but you have no account. Would you like to make one ?

NO!

but do it anyway since you CAN'T un-install without an account. (Some brilliant people that thought of this)

So i uninstall photoshop. (Done)

I uninstall Illustrator. (Done)

I uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud (Error: The un-instalation is completed with errors. This does not free up space btw)

Ok Well i download the uninstaller from the website. That surely works. They thought about this right ?

No, The uninstaller does not work either. Getting the same error "Error: The un-instalation is completed with errors.".

Well that does it. I guess the app stays on the computer till the computer dies.

So in total:

I had to create an account that i don't even want.

I need to install a program to un-install a program.

I had to look through multiple Adobe forum posts to get me trough this experience.

I had to check Customer support (Spoiler: They do not have a topic about un-installation support)

I cant uninstall everything because the programs don't work as expected.

Now my point:

If you create applications for end users make sure it is just as easily uninstalled as it is installed.

My tip to people:

If you are using/going to use Adobe, make sure you want it for the rest of you're computers lifetime. It is nearly impossible to get rid of it.

Use the Adobe CC Cleaner Tools to wipe old files off your system.  It works with old Creative Suite files, too.

Hey Startingtoloseit! (excellent name choice, considering),

That is indeed a saga. I'm sorry you had such a frustrating experience. If it helps, Adobe does have a cleaner tool that can help get rid of pesky program remnants. Not that you necessarily want to invest yet more time in this, but, just in case, info and links live here: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems.

If you're feeling really generous/proactive, you can also submit a Feature Request/Bug Report Form to try to make the powers that be take notice and make change so others don't suffer as you have suffered.
