My Mac OS X crashed and when I go to reload PS CS6 from my external hard drive it won't install.

I double click on the icon Adobe Photoshop CS6.app from my Lacie external hard drive and I get

Configuration error

Please uninstall and reinstall the product.

If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

I can't find out what file to look at that contains the Serial Number to downlaod the product installer from Adobe website.

    It sounds like you are trying to transfer an installation from one drive to another... that will not work.  Adobe products need to be installed using installation files. You can download thru the link provided below or thru your account if you purchased it thru Adobe as a download.  You will need your serial number...
