Question

My Master Collection CS4 will not install - "Setup Error" Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue.

I'm running a PC.  Windows 7. 8GB RAM.  Core i7 @ 2 GHz - 160GB of free disk space.

I purchased this in 2009.  This is the third PC since that time.  Had similar issue trying to install on last PC.

Install just doesn't happen.  I have DVDs, so this is not a download.  I put in the DVD and it starts the setup and then just quits and gives me the above error.  The only option I have is to click on the "quit" button.  That's it.

uninstall, clean and reinstall per Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

if that fails to solve the problem and there's no specific error message, check your install logs, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC

The CC Cleaner Tool didn't do anything.  It said it didn't find anything.

I did troubleshoot the install log and found this:

    Installation result: 1603

    [    6092] Mon Aug 25 13:41:14 2014 ERROR

    Log of: objectisRunning {string}: 0percentComplete {string}: 100message {object}: [object Object]Log of: object  code {string}: 2  args {object}: [object Object]Log of: object  code {string}: 1603  errorText {string}: Object already exists.

    Bootstrapper failed to install

    END - Installer Session

What do I do now???  I guess it is saying the Object already exists, but I haven't installed yet.

i'm not sure that's the needed info.

if that were error 1603, Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation

but you need to verify that in the install logs.
