Need help installing elements version 9 to new IMac.

Ok, quickly losing patience. I have elements version 9 on my laptop. I bought it when my email address was different which is why (I'm guessing) it doesn't show up in my list of products. I contacted support, got my serial number and downloaded it to my new IMac. It won't install due to some kind of error. It also never asked me for my serial number when I downloaded it and it won't let me register this version again. Can someone please help me install my old elements to my new IMac? I don't really want to buy a new version when my old one worked just fine for my needs. Thanks.

    >due to some kind of error

That is not enough information for anyone to even GUESS what is wrong

Since you say "new" computer, read below

Mac 10.10.4 possible fix (at least for Premiere Pro) https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1891705

Mac 10.10.? sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

I appreciate your reply. It really just said due to an error. Hence my complete sense of frustration. Not to mention the fact that it took "Karuna" the agent on chat at Adobe almost an hour to simply retrieve my serial number. This looks like a no win for me. I'm wondering if Photoshop Elements version 9 simply won't run on Yosemite 10.10.4. although it was running on 10.10.1. Thanks for the links and for your time.
