Need suggestions to choose subscription plan

I'm a web developer who occasionally uses Photoshop. I've just recently go solo, so no more employer giving me free Adobe license

I use Photoshop between 1-2 weeks within a project's lifespan. and i've used it for like 3 projects this last 6 months. so far i managed to get by using the trial mode and Adobe CC's online asset viewer/extraction tool for simple PSDs files.

now i'm looking to get a subscription. but need suggestions to pick which one. so far i have this rough calculation below by considering my working trends:

  • single app, monthly: i need to purchase at least 6 times in a year. $30 x 6 = $180
  • single app, annual paid monthly: $20 x 12 = $240
  • photography, annual paid monthly: $10 x 12 = $120

based on this, does it mean in my case it's cheaper to go with the photography plan? which also seems better since i get to keep Photoshop for the whole year. but i can't really predict the future. so far i only have 1 more upcoming project in the pipeline.

oh, i also need to get Adobe XD for some small prototyping work. monthly is fine, since it's only $10 a month.

note: the prices above are based on my currency (IDR).

Photography plan & XD is a good choice.

What exactly are your most used Photoshop features?

There could be another reasonable software combination:

You could buy Photoshop Elements as a non-subscription software.

If you are on a Windows PC you can tune up Photoshop Elements with "Elements XXL" by  http://www.thepluginsite.com.

Additionally you can subscribe to Adobe XD for prototyping.

I need some help in that regard as well.Hi. I am on a Macbook Pro, I have the creative cloud photography plan. Recently I ran into problems w/the stock photography. I wanted to do a trial of Illustrator but it does not download. And a couple of days ago I also had problems with the CC just stopping and shutting down. I would like to know which of the desktop apps is best to work with the stock? Just recently when I downloaded the AI/eps files I could not get the watermark removed. Was trying to chat for an hour tonite w/Adobe. Grrrr

Illustrator is NOT part of the Photography Plan.  That's a separate subscription.

It depends on the File Type that you purchase & download.  JPG, GIF, TIFF and PSD files can all be opened in Photoshop.  Watermarks will appear on the low-res preview images.  They should not appear on purchased images.

If you're a web developer, the Full Plan will give you the most bang for your buck.  In all, about 22 products which includes everything you will need and more.

  1. Adobe Business Catalyst
  2. Dreamweaver,
  3. Muse,
  4. Photoshop,
  5. Lightroom CC & LIghtroom Classic,
  6. Bridge,
  7. Adobe XD,
  8. Illustrator (for exporting SVG images),
  9. Adobe Animate CC (for HTML5 animations)
  10. Adobe Portfolio (for showcasing your work online),
  11. Premier Pro and After Effects (for video or motion graphics work)
  12. Plus many more mobile apps and services.

The month-to-month plan costs a little more per month but you can cancel anytime without a penalty.

The annual plan costs a little less per month but you must commit to a full year or risk paying a penalty fee (50% of unpaid balance) for cancelling early.

i'm not really into the idea of paying for a bunch of apps i may not even use. And as i always worked with other designers & artists. most of the assets have already been delivered to me in the final form. So the full suite is really unecessary.

  1. Adobe Business Catalyst (i dont even know what this is)
  2. Dreamweaver, (haven't used this in a while. better tools are available)
  3. Muse, (not really my thing. i like more control with the sites i build)
  4. Photoshop, (YES)
  5. Lightroom CC & LIghtroom Classic, (Not really into photography)
  6. Bridge,
  7. Adobe XD, (YES, occasionally)
  8. Illustrator (maybe.. but i usually just ask the designer i worked with to export it for me)
  9. Adobe Animate CC (once every lunar eclipse and the moon is aligned with Venus, i always found a reason to use it)
  10. Adobe Portfolio (maybe.., but then again, this also comes with the photography plan)
  11. Premier Pro and After Effects (same as illustrator)
  12. Plus many more mobile apps and services. (which i never going to use)
