Need to move CS 5.5 to a new computer

My wife's MacBook Pro is dying a slow death.  I want to make sure I get CS 5.5 off of it so that I can install it on a new computer before the old one seizes up for the last time.

Do I need to somehow "un-license" the installation on her old computer?

Anything else?

Thank you.

Despite what the Apple geniuses say,  you can't port apps from one computer to another.  You really need to run the installation routine.   And ;egacy Creative Suite installers are not compatible with Sierra and higher without terminal workarounds.  Also Mojave is dropping support for all 32-bit software.

Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

If that doesn't pan out, Creative Cloud is conpatible with newer computerrs.

    Hi Nancy,

Don't want to sound pedantic but Mojave still supports 32 bit software, with frequent warnings about support about to be dropped in future versions of macOS.

Mojave's successor will not support 32 bit apps at all.

Right.  I should have said Apple is phasing out 32-bit software support.

Yes Activate and deactivate Adobe products

Do be aware that CS5.5 may not install on a new Mac... at least not without extra steps

CS6 and earlier programs HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED AND WILL NOT BE UPDATED for Mac El Capitan or newer operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-this is about CS6 (which is from 2012) but it will probably apply to other programs of that age

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or newer operating systems

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility

I've been able to get cs3 cs4 and cs5 to install just fine. Launching though may be an issue. You might need to give access like security and privacy there are one or two things to give permission to as another commenter posted. The updates are also tricky. You need to open up the updater contents and run them from the terminal window. So far photoshop runs fine, but when you close it you will see an error message that it closed incorrectly. I only use photoshop and sometimes acrobat so I can't comment on anything else.
