Need to put PS CC on external drive for presentation

I don't have a laptop and I need to use PhotoShop for a presentation this weekend.

I have read that I can download or move the app to an external drive but that there are necessary files stored on my desktop HD which prevent me from disconnecting and using the external drive independent of my desktop.

Is there any way to circumvent this requirement so that I can use my external drive this weekend?
