New install of E 10 from disk problem

Question

I’m attempting to install Elements 10 (Costco Special Edition) from disks (total 3). New Adobe install on WIN 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, no previous edition of Elements. First disk loads just fine ….until the end. I get a small box which says complete, insert disk number 2. Only problem is there appears to be some kind of script running in the background box, as if there is more to install from disk 1 and no way can I eject disk one, without exiting the whole install. It then won’t pick up where left off if I load disk 2. If I reload disk 1, it goes into an uninstall and install all over again, only to get stuck at the end again. This exercise I have done multiple time with same result.

Question: what am I missing here? Do I have a bad install disk? I hate to exchange at Costco if there is an easy fix. Thanks.

Think I have this figured out but, only by trial and error. No, I can not provide screen shot. Kind of a mute issue now anyway! About the time I was going to do a capture I noticed on the next install attempt a precheck (default) box for Premiere Trail and decided to uncheck and see what happens. What happened is....bingo, Disk 1 then installed PE10 "complete" and I didn't get the dialoge box asking for Disk 2 at end. Hummm....could that be all there is, just one disk need afterall? Just out of curiosity I loaded disk 2 and it is nothing more than a install disk for Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Trial. Loaded Disk 3 and it's nothing more than a resourse disk with all kinds of garbage on it.

So, it appears the hook is, that stupid checked default Premiere box at begining of the Disk 1 install and that PE 10 is really only on the first disk. Sure wish there was some kind of notice with the packaging stating this. For a novice like me, it appeared that all three disks had to be installed. Making matters more confusing is that all three disks are labeled "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10" . No mention of Premiere or what else might be on disk 2 or 3 .......urgh.

Anyway, assuming what I've discoved is correct, I can now get along learning this program. Thanks for you help.

Elevator1tom I would recommend you run your software in trial mode for the moment and try again in a couple of days. It appears the Identi-e site is experiencing quite a bit of volume at the moment. You may also want to review this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4104031#4104031.
