new Mac - asks for old serial#, which was a PC version, won't accept it
I have serial numbers back to 2008, but it's not taking my serial #s, although I have 2 Mac install disks (X and XI). The previous versions were PC (also have serial #s.)

you should be prompted for the version 7 serial number after entering the serial number for the upgrade version you're trying to install. when the installer fails to find a qualifying product (version 7) for that upgrade.
The reason *I* didn't respond is the answer wasn't correct. I clearly said I had serial numbers back, but did NOT have version 7, nor have I. If it were that, I could have entered that myself!
The ANSWER is, I just blew it off and installed Acrobat XI, w/o every putting the requested previous serial # (which I didn't have) into the X version. The XI "saw" that X was installed, even though I couldn't open it, and allowed the install. Go figure.
I haven't deleted the X version yet b/c I was so tired after reinstalling software on 2 computers and a new one, that I haven't gotten around to it. ![]()
I was wanting to post the answer somewhere... and not sure the process.
I was disappointed that no one ever got back w/ me on the chat... but I was happy that on a holiday KGLAD made an attempt.
It's a good life...
