New user on Mac... Creative Cloud app vs Desktop app

Just installed our Creative Cloud on a new Mac and notice there is an app called "Creative Cloud" and a "Creative Cloud Desktop" app. The Creative Cloud opens as expected showing downloads, account etc. The desktop app seems to do nothing. Do I need to reinstall this desktop app or am I ok just using the Creative Cloud app?

Arelene, can you provide more information about the Adobe Creative Cloud app doing nothing? Can you successfully open the application from the menu bar or Application folder?

The Creative Cloud app does open it is the Desktop app that seems to do nothing once it is clicked to open.

Ok, thanks, Arlene; the app failing to open is probably due to the use of the migration assistant when moving to the new computer. Please see the section titled How can I transfer Adobe apps from my old computer to my new Mac computer with Apple silicon in https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/apple-silicon-m1-chip.html for troubleshooting steps you can implement to correct the error.

If you continue encountering problems opening the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application, you can also utilize the steps listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-app-doesnt-open.html to correct any errors with the misconfiguration.
