Nikon Z50 files

Running mac 10.7.5, converting Nikon D500 files with Adobe DNG conversion. I have reached the maxium Adobe DNG conversion software on the Mac 10.7.5 which allows me to convert the Nikon NEF D500 files to Adobe DNG. Then I use the DNG files in my raw editor,  Aperture. But now I got a Nikon Z50. I need to know what the minimum Mac Operating system I can use so I can convert the native Nikon NEF files into usable DNG files to use in Aperture. Is it a proprietary software from Nikon? Maybe a new Mac, with what minium OS. Something that PS 6, or Aperture can see! Help Please.

What model and year of mac do you have?

You can find out by going to Apple>About this Mac.

If your able to upgrade the current 10.7.5 OS or install a later macOS on a partition or separate new drive

you could use a minimum of macOS 10.13 High Sierra to run the 12.1 dng converter for the Nikon Z50

plus photoshop CS6 and Aperture and a maximum of macOS 10.14 Mojave. Any later MacOS like

Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey will not run CS6 or Aperture.

Before you buy a new computer and upgrade to Creative Cloud, ensure your equipment has the CPU and GPU to run the latest Creative Cloud apps.

Most Creative Cloud apps work on:

  • Windows 10 versions 21H1, 20H2, 2004, and 1909 (LTSB branches are not supported)
  • macOS 12 (Monterey), macOS 11 (Big Sur), macOS 10.16 or 10.15 (Catalina)

A new Mac won't run Photoshop CS6. You will need a Photoshop subscription. A new Mac will have the latest OS and cannot usually be downgraded at all.
