The 20 digit alpha-numeric number is your redemption code that you use to get your 24 digit serial number.

Thomas, sorry for any confusion. You will want to use the process listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/redemption-code-help.html to enter the redemption code and retrieve the serial number. If you need assistance with the process, please begin a secure chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen so a support team member can help you.
