Bluegrassbarry you can download and install Illustrator CS6 from Download CS6 products. Do you currently have a Creative Cloud Membership? If not then I would recommend upgrading your operating system prior to subscribing. You can find the system requirements for Creative Cloud at System requirements | Creative Cloud.

hi jeff, it still says i have to upgrade my os, that is when i try downloading cs6. i got a creative cloud membership, i think, but your email below does not explain why i should want that. so my original question still feels unanswered. can i get a version of illustrator that will work on windows vista? cs6 does not seem to be the answere.

Windows Vista isn't compatible for all the current Adobe CC products and almost all CS6 products, if you have an older version then we need to check if that is compatibility or not.

Please tell me which version of Illustrator you own and will let you know about it.
