Payment Issues

Question

So I have been using my debit card to pay monthly for a long time now. My card just expired, so I went to update it online, and they wouldn't accept my card info. I called customer service (sounded like it was a call center in India?) and tried to update there, but the system wouldn't accept my debit card info there either. 
 
When I asked why, she asked me if I had a different credit card I could use. I said no, I don't have any credit cards, just my debit card. She said that they don't accept debit cards, only credit cards and PayPal accounts. When I asked why, she said "I guess it's because they don't use debit cards in America". 
 
This makes no sense to me at all. My card number has not changed... Just the expiration date and the numbers on the back. They've been accepting payments from my debit card for years. What is going on? Is this normal? I'll set up the PayPal thing, I guess, but this is annoying! Anyone have the same issue?

This is a public forum, not Adobe support. Users, including the ACPs and MVPs, can't provide support for account, subscription, billing, download, or product activation issues. Support for those issues requires an Adobe employee.

Click the chat icon at the bottom right of the page to open a chat session. Typing AGENT into the chat window should connect you directly to a CSR rather than the AI.

If the CSR refers you to the forums, insist on speaking with a supervisor and keep moving up the chain until you get someone who knows what they are talking about.

Edited to add: Americans do in fact use debit cards. I do not know if Adobe accepts use of a debit card for payment or if they used to and now don't. Either way, you'll still need to talk to Customer Service and, as I said, escalate if the CSR tries to send you here or isn't of any help otherwise.
