PDF portfolio merge - combine feature is missing?

There used to be a feature in and older version of Adobe Acrobat that when I had a PDF Porfolio, I could just push a button to create a new "Combined" (or merged) continuous PDF file.   I know i can extract, and then combine them again manually, but now it puts the files in alphabetical order.. instead of the order it extracted them.  Using Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.   Is it the version? I dont mind upgrading to a newer Pro version, I just need to know whether or not we can do that.
