PH 12 tries to uninstall itself without proper prior installation

Question

My first attempt to install PE 12 failed, because corrupt download file. Any further attempt to install results in the software trying to uninstall itself. This never completes so I never can try to install it fresh. How do I get rid of any trace of the earlier failed attempt to install.? (I use Windows 7)
