Photoshop and Bridge - Update... link in Help no longer works

I realize that all Adobe apps use the Creative Cloud interface to update, but someone needs to revise the 'Update...' link under the Help menu.

When I went to see if there was a major update (there was), I was greeted with a generic Windows 10 notification that I should look in the Windows App Store, and offered no further suggestions.

If it can't alert me to an update, how about it just auto-launching Creative Cloud?

Paul, you can use the process listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/update-app.html to apply available updates.

Well Adobe expects, Thinks, everyone is going to let the CC DTA run all the time. The Default for that app is to Start with the system.

I personally turn off any program option that wants to Startup with the system or to always keep them up to date automatically and that includes the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

If you want to receive notifications of Adobe program updates you should let the CC DTA start with your system.

To me it doesn't matter but I do periodically, once a week or once every 2 weeks, start it up to check for updates.

I'm with you, Shoot.
I customize my Windows Start-up by disabling nearly all background tasks that programs insert for their own convenience. If the Help > Check for Updates doesn't work, it needs to either be removed entirely, or simply have a one-line script to open Adobe CC.

My point being that the Menu item  Help > check for updates should be removed if it won't, in fact, report whether updates are available. That is a vestige of the pre-CC Adobe workflow that has clearly changed.
