make sure you secure your pse serial number and installation file if you want to use pse in the future and if your subscription lapses.  ie, your subscription is apt to take over your pse license so if your subscription ends, your ability to use pse may end requiring you to uninstall and clean everything adobe from your computer and then reinstall and activate pse.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

It might happen for CS6, but won't happen for PSE.

As @MichelBParis wrote is no problem to have both applications on your computer.

The only thing you have to consider is the order of installation. The lastest installed application is automatically assigned to thre appropriate file types (.psd and so on). In certain circumstances you have to adjust this manually.

    My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

Short answer: YES to both questions.

No problem to install and use Photoshop  and Photoshop Elements on the same computer.

Depending on what you want, it may not be necessary to 'remove' (= to uninstall Elements), it may be enough to 'sign out' or 'deactivate' the Elements license linked with your computer. It's important to understand the difference between 'uninstalling' and 'deactivating'.

The Elements license give you the right to install in several computers, but only two can be 'activated', that means recognized by Adobe servers to allow the use of the software. So, for instance, you can have a working Elements at the same time on a desktop and a laptop at the same time. If you want to use another Elements installed in a third computer, you'll have to 'sign out' or 'deactivate one of the two previously installed ones. Then you can activate the new one by entering the license key.

This is done from the Help menu (deactivate or sign out depending on the PSE version).

For more help, you can also ask in the Photoshop Elements forum:
