Photoshop CS5 freezes at Adobe ID login screen?

What would cause Photoshop CS5 to freeze up at the Adobe ID login screen? We've tried removing and reinstalling Creative Suite, even removing the registry keys with Revo Uninstaller, but it continues to freeze on that login screen. I'm out of ideas for this... is there a known cause?

Windows 7 SP1, all updates have been installed.

It's not a permissions issue & it's not system age, it worked just fine on Win7 x64 on the previous machine.

It's also not hosts (is the default with nothing in it) & it's not the root certificate. I'm doubting this is a connectivity issue. What else would cause this?

Weyoun do you have a software firewall installed?  Have you tried temporarily disabling the software firewall to see if it allows the Adobe ID request to continue?

What is your system information?  New systems have issues with older software.

AMD FX-8370, 32gb RAM, Radeon R9 390... CS5 isn't so old that the age would come into play. It had no problems on our i7-5820k box with a 390X and 64gb of DDR4, so I don't believe age is a factor.

    Which version of Windows?

If Win10, CS5 is about 6 years old and may not work

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)
