Photoshop Elements 10 Disc 2

When installing the Windows version of Elements 10 from CDs, after successfully installing from Disc 1 I was prompted to insert Disc 2, but the CD hung up in my drive.  I had to shut down to extract the first intall disc.  At that point, the installation process indicated it was complete, and I now can't add anything via Disc 2.  The program seems to be operating fine so far.  Am I missing anything?  Is it worth the trouble to uninstall and reinstall?

    I can speak to this topic a little and hopefully clear up any confusion

    For Photoshop Elements 10, there is only a 32-bit version, there is no 64-bit version

    For Premiere Elements 10, there is both a 32-bit and 64-bit version, the 64-bit only works on Windows 7 64-bit systems

    If you purchase Photoshop Elements 10 it includes a trial version of Premiere Elements 10. If you install the trial version of Premiere Elements 10 the installer checks information about your operating system and prompts you to insert the appropriate DVD. If you were on a Windows 7 64-bit system it would prompt you to insert DVD 2 or if you were on a Windows 7 32-bit system it would install the 32-bit version from DVD 1.

    Thank you DaveinNC and David__B. That's definitely the answer I wanted to hear as it means I don't have to uninstall and reinstall. Thank you very much for your assistance. Can't wait to get creating now!

    As the originator of this whole thread, my thanks, too, to all who responded.  I also look forward to magical creations, even though I must learn to deal with a mere 32 bit version.

    Now for the next adventure as I install Disc 3 on my iMac.  I hear that's got even more fun challenges!

    I've had the exact same problem. From an evening browsing the Adobe forums I've found two different answers:

    1. PSE 10 only has a 32 bit version, so no need to install disc 2 unless you also want the 30 day trial of Premiere in 64 bit

    2. PSE 10 does have a 64 bit version, so if you want to use that you should uninstall PSE 10 then reinstall, this time starting from disc 2, contrary to the instructions on the box.

    I'm completely confused. I'd really rather not uninstall and reinstall as I'm worried something would get left behind and not work, or that the CD would stick again like last time. On the other hand, I don't want to be running 32 bit if it's possible to operate at 64 bit.

    If someone from Adobe could clarify which of the above answers is correct I'm sure we'd all be very grateful (especially as the original post has received almost 200 views in just over a week, clearly a lot of people are trying to get a clear answer on this)

      Thank you for your prompt response, Preran, but unfortunately that article doesn't help my understanding. It tells me that I should use discs 1 and 2, but like StrayShooter I wasn't able to use disc 2 during installation. The article doesn't tell me what the implications of not using disc 2 are.

      The article talks about contents (themes and templates that ship with the application) and states that after installing PSE 10 you can also install this content. Does this mean that because I couldn't insert disk 2 during installation I won't have access to these themes and templates? Is there a way of installing this content without uninstalling PSE10 and starting the installation process again? When I insert disk 2 I don't get the option to install anything.

      I'm now even more confused because the Adobe forums have provided three possible answers:

      I was really excited to receive my copy of PSE 10 but am now very frustrated that's it's not clear what I have to do to ensure a successful installation.

        I should add that I'm running Windows 7 on a 64 bit OS.  Am I likely running the 32 bit version since I got aced out of inserting Disc 2?
