Photoshop Elements 2025 failed to install on desktop computer

I need help with installing Photoshop Elements 2025. I recently purchased a new Dell desktop computer with Windows 11. Three days ago I purchased an PSE upgrade to 2025. I can not get PSE to install on my computer. The popup window states "Another installer is currently running & must be closed. Error Code 87." Here is what I have tried for over three days to do:

Open Task Manager - can't locate a MSI running to end task only the PSE installer.

Internet is connected & working.

Tried downloading the install from Chrome, Microsoft Edge & FoxFire.

Run as adminstrator.

Copying install from File Explorer to Desktop to open & install.

None of the above work. I am not tech savvy to disable the firewall. It should not be this hard to install a purchased program on a new computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I found that I had two antivirus programs running, the one I purchased & the one that came with the computer. I didn't uninstall the one already installed. Once I uninstalled that one Photoshop Elements 2025 installed properly. Photoshop Elements 2025 works great!!

    Hi @Lisa_Bringewatt5832,

Error 87 means there is a conflicting process running in the background.

You must close it from your Task Manager before you can proceed. See details below.

If you continue to have problems installing, contact Adobe Customer Support via secure online chat.

    Hope that helps.

Before clicking on the PSE installation, that I have downloaded from Adobe website, I checked the Task Manager & Windows installer was running, msiexec.exe. I did not end the task & closed end task manager. I clicked on the PSE Installer from my File Explorer folder to install. Code 87 does not name a specific conflicting installer. Opened Task Manager & Windows Installer was running as well as two PSE installers. When I closed one PSE installer it closed the installation pop up window & the two PSE installer closed. No installtion window, nothing happened. I did that twice. I did not end task for Windows installer. The pop up stated it was a system process & it might result in system instability.

I will have to contact Adobe Support for more help.

    Thank you for your time.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
