Question

Photoshop Elements

I'm considering to give my daughter an installation of Photoshop Elements as a birthday present.
Since it is a one-time-installation, what will happen the day she needs a new computer??
Will she have to buy a new installation?

    Since it is a one-time-installation

Can you post a link showing where you read that wording?

Retail purchases (not bundled with a device) of Photoshop Elements are a one-time payment for a perpetual license, not a one-time installation.

As the others have said, keep your installation file and your serial number safe. You can then install, or re-install, the software on a new computer when you get one.

Computer crashes happen... the FIRST time you download a program make an external copy
IF/When you do have a download, be sure to copy it to AT LEAST one external device
you should ALWAYS keep a copy (or two!) on an external device
since Adobe DOES SOMETIMES REMOVE OLD VERSIONS FROM THE SERVER
a usb flash drive or external hard drive, or write to a CD or DVD
plus a text file containing your serial number if you have a serial number program

if she preserved her installation file and password, she install on her new computer (assuming it's os is compatible).

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
