Photoshop Elements 8 Setup Needs Updated to Install on New Mac

My new Mac did not come with a disc drive, and I'm trying to reinstall my Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. I was able to get a dmg image link from technical support, but when I download it and click "Setup", I'm given an error:

"Setup" needs to be updated.

The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.

Does anyone have any way of fixing this? I don't want to have to buy a whole new photoshop for this.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, apple depreciated 32 bit applications like Photoshop Elements 8 from running on Catalina and Big Sur.

That very old program will NOT work with Catalina or Big Sur

Adobe did not change the program, Apple changed the operating system and did not provide for backward compatibility

You must buy new http://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html
