Photoshop install stops at 84%

I have been using Creative Cloud for a number of years but for some time have been having difficulty updating some of my Apps, including Photoshop. I have previously been able to update by uninstalling Photoshop and then using a manual downloaded install but this no longer works. Every time I try to install the latest version the process halts at 85%. The last couple of lines of the installation log read.

Starting 'UN-INSTALL' task for Package (Name: AdobeCameraRaw8.0All Version: 9.7.0.112)

05/27/18 15:25:42:765 | [WARN] |  | HDSetup | HDPIM | PDBHelper |  | HDPIM | 261959 | Error in removing dependency with RIBSadobecode: {3E7FC757-D497-4C89-A935-7D38E2164E85} HDAdobeCode: ACR9.6 Error code: 4

I have searched online including on these forums for solutions but everything I have tried fails.

Many of the solutions offered involve using the Adobe Cleaner tool but every time I try to install that it crashes almost immediately.

Can anyone help. I am getting desperate as I really need to use Photoshop in the next few days.

Correct answer kglad

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thank you so much. All up and running perfectly.

At stage 3 the cscleaner tool still refused to run for me, so I downloaded a 3rd party uninstaller and removed everything with adobe in the filename. cscleaner then worked, after a reboot, for a final cleanup before rebooting again and installing the desktop app and CC 2018 apps without any further difficulty.

Thanks again.
