Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1 won't update to cc 2015

I have Photoshop CC installed ok, but the old version of Lightroom 5.7.1 is stuck there, and won't update to Lightroom CC 2015 on my Laptop.

I've tried removing it, and reinstalling Lightroom, but it just reinstalles the old version.

What can I do to get the new version installed please?

thanks

Robert

Just now, I completely uninstalled everything Adobe, and used the CreativeCloudCleaner program to Completely remove all references to Adobe from my Windows 8.1 computer.

I then reinstalled CrreativeClloudDesktop - and logged in again. Guess what. It wants to install the OLD version of Lightroom. There is no sign of the 2015 version.

Photoshop is the right version - but Lightroom is not.

I do not have this problem on the Mac. I have both correct versions on that machine. Very frustrating.

Since Lightroom 2015 CC (Lightroom 6) is a new product, it will not show as an update. Instead, you need to press the install button next to the new version in the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App. If you don't see "install" by it in the application manager, please first try signing out and back in: sign in and sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app

Since you tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and the new version did not appear in the list, it is possible your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Please take  look here to see if your computer can run the new program: system requirements

Quit Adobe Creative cloud application .

1) End all Adobe related tasks from Task Manager.

2) Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.

Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

appdata

Then navigate to Local>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm.db file.

3) Right click on Adobe Creative Cloud icon and select " Properties"  option .

Then click on Compatibility mode .

Make sure compatibility mode is set to Windows 8.1

Then click on Apply , then OK.

Then Right click on Adobe Creative Cloud icon and select " Run as Administrator"   option .

Hi Thanks

hmmm. So the Windows box is running 32 bit. I guess that answers the question

oh well - time to up grade the windows box I guess.

thanks

Robert

opps. Hang on. I just checked. It's a 64 bit processor - but running a 32 bit copy of Windows 8.1  So I guess Adobe is looking at the OS, not the actual CPU.???

You can format the computer and install 64 bit version  OS .

The applications compatibility is based on the File System accommodated by Operating System. to install and use Applications.

For example :  we can install both Mac OS and Windows OS on same computer using parallels or Boot camp..etc which share same processor which operated with their own individual file system.
